How points work

Points are a record of work we have accepted and agreed to pay for. They are not a currency and not an asset:

  • they have no cash value until you redeem them;
  • they cannot be transferred, sold or gifted to another member;
  • they do not expire while your account is open and in good standing;
  • they are removed if the submission that produced them is later found to be fraudulent.

What you can expect to earn

We do not publish income figures, and you should be sceptical of any platform that does. Your total depends on how many studies you qualify for, how many you complete and whether the work is accepted — none of which we can promise in advance. Treat this as occasional supplemental income, not as a wage. That framing is set out in full on Responsible participation.

Verification

Your first withdrawal requires a one-time identity check: confirming your email address, your payout account and, in some regions, a government-issued ID. It is handled by a specialist provider and the documents are not stored on our own systems beyond the retention period stated in the Privacy Policy.

What can delay a payout

CauseWhat to do
Identity check not finishedComplete the outstanding step in your settings.
Name mismatch with the payout accountThe receiving account must be in your own name.
Provider outage or bank holidayNothing — it clears once the provider processes the queue.
Submissions under reviewWait for the review; disputed points are held until it closes.
Suspected duplicate accountsRespond to the email from support so the review can finish.

Fees

We charge nothing to join, nothing to take part and nothing to withdraw. Your payment provider may charge its own fee or apply its own exchange rate — for example when converting to a currency other than USD. That is between you and them, and it is shown by the provider before you confirm.

Tax

Payments are made to you as an individual participant, not as an employee. Whether they are taxable, and what you need to declare, depends on where you live. We cannot give tax advice; if you are unsure, speak to a qualified adviser or your local tax authority.
